User Roles
Each user may have one or more roles in Hugo Systems. Each role gives the user different capabilities, e.g. a Doctor may be able to sign off reports for patients, whereas a Clinician wouldn’t.
This ensures that you can manage your team and provide access to specific features of Hugo Systems depending on the needs of each of your team members.
To see all the capabilities and permissions for each role:
- visit the settings page
- click on Edit company settings
- under the Team Settings section, clicking on the Users link
- at the end of the table’s header, click on the info icon
Hugo Systems has a few roles depending on whether the user is part of your team, a patient, or an external doctor. We won’t cover the Patient and External Doctor roles here, as they don’t apply to how your team works with Hugo Systems. The main things you need to know about those roles are that external doctors and patients have certain capabilities in Hugo Systems, and that they are more limited than roles available to practices.
We have the following roles available for your team:
- Administrator
- Clinician
- Doctor
- Patient Manager
- Schedule Administrator
- Finance Manager
Administrator
Every organisation has at least one administrator, and this is usually the person who signs up for your practice, but can be later changed to someone else at your organisation if you wish.
Administrators have the most capabilities, and can edit settings for your practice, and add an manage users.
Clinician
Clinicians can work with information related to patients, such as managing patient information, entering information on reports, and most other features required to work with patients.
Doctor
In addition to all the capabilities that the Clinician role has, users with the Doctor role have additional capabilities, such as submitting reports.
Patient Manager
The Patient Manager allows for working with information related to patients. Users with this role can edit a patient’s details, and manage a patient’s appointments.
Schedule Administrator
A user with the Schedule Administrator role has access to certain features in the settings pages specific to managing a practices schedule. They can manage which days the practice is open, the practice’s operating hours, availability on the appointment grid, and more.
Finance Manager
Finance managers have access to financial features in Hugo Systems, such as working with Xero.
