Signing quotes
Once a quote has been created for a patient, it can then be signed.
Patients may sign the quote directly in Hugo Systems, or may download a PDF of the quote, and sign it. Quotes that are downloaded and signed will need to be uploaded to Hugo Systems.
To sign a quote directly from Hugo Systems:
- create or find the patient’s quote
- if your staff account has permissions to get a signature for a quote, a Get signature button will be available to you on the quote page. Click this button
- a page that looks similar to the quote page will appear. At the bottom of this page a name and signature can be entered
- ask the patient or account holder to enter their name, and draw a signature
- click Sign Quote
- you will be navigated to a page showing details of the signed quote, along with the PDF containing the signature
- an email will be sent to the patient notifying them of the signing
Once a quote has been signed, a patient will be able to access the signed quote from the patient portal.
Signing a quote more than once
The need may arise for a quote to be updated, and for the quote to be signed again.
If the quote has been signed, the associated signed quote will first need to be archived before a new signature can be obtained.
Staff-signed vs patient-signed
The above steps describe how to obtain a signature via a staff member’s account. To make it clear that a signature was obtained via a staff member’s account, and not a patient’s account, signed quotes are marked as awaiting patient confirmation.
Please read our disputed signed quotes page for details on how patients can ensure they are happy with quotes signed via a staff member’s account.
