Archiving patients
If the same patient is entered into your organisation multiple times, the duplicate patients can be archived to prevent them from coming up in patient searches, and to prevent users from logging in with the duplicate patient profile.
When a patient is archived, none of their associated records are removed, and the patient may be safely restored along with all of their associated records.
To archive a patient:
- search for the patient
- click on their name in the search results list
- click on the dot menu on the right of their name
- click Archive patient
- confirm that you want to archive the patient
Once a patient is archived, they may then be completely deleted.
Restoring archived patients
To restore an archived patient:
- search for the patient
- click on their name in the search results list
- click on the dot menu on the right of their name
- click Restore archived patient
- confirm that you want to restore the patient
Once restored, staff members can interact with the patient and the patient’s records again, and the users associated with the patient may log into the patient portal again
