Dentist letters

Dentist letters are associated with reports, and contain information related to the patient’s treatment, as well as any procedures that may be relevant to specialists outside of your practice.

Dentist letters contain the following information:

• a thank you to the practitioner for referring the patient to your practice
  • these practitioners are obtained from the list of referring doctors that that can be associated with a patient via a patient’s profile
• procedures that will be undertaken
• a report, containing
  • the proposed treatment plans section of the report
  • observations from photographs of the patient
  • observations from xrays of the patient

Downloading a dentist letter

Dentist letters are available in a number of ways, depending on the state of the report, and the type of user accessing the dentist letter.

Patients can download dentist letters for reports via the patient portal.

To download a dentist letter for a report:

• navigate to the patient’s list of reports
• find the relevant report from the Submitted reports section, and then
  • download the report from the dot menu on the right of the report
    • click the dot menu
    • click Download dentist letter
  • or, download the letter from the dentist letter page
    • click on the title of the report from the Submitted reports list
    • click Dentist letter
    • click on the dot menu in the top right of the page of the dentist letter
    • click Download

Dentist letters for work-in-progress reports may also be downloaded by doing the following:

• navigate to the patient’s list of reports
• click the title of the relevant report in the Work in progress reports section
• click Dentist letter
• click on the dot menu in the top right of the page of the dentist letter
• click Download

Note that as the report is a work-in-progress, any information sent to the patient at this stage may be subject to change until the report is finalised.

Emailing a dentist letter

Dentist letters may be sent directly to referring doctors, too. Once referring doctors are associated with the patient via their profile, letters can be sent via email by doing the following:

• navigate to the patient’s list of reports
• find the relevant report from the Submitted reports section, and then
• click on the dot menu on the right of the report
• click Email dentist letter to doctors
• select the doctors to email the dentist letter to
• click Send

The downloadable version of the dentist letter will be sent to the selected doctors.
