Treatment Setup

A "Treatment Setup" allows you to describe a patient's treatment plan. The most recent treatment setup is shown at the top of the patient's timeline, while older ones may be accessed via the Treatment Setups link in the patient's sidebar.

To manage a patient's Treatment Setups:

Creating a Treatment Setup

Once on a patient's Treatment Setups page, a new Treatment Setup can be created by doing the following:

  • click Add Treatment Setup in the top right of the page
  • enter the details for the patient's treatment, and optionally upload any files that are relevant to the treatment
  • click Save to save the details

Editing a Treatment Setup

As Treatment Setups are medical records, it's important to ensure that they can be audited, and that updates are distinct.

To ensure auditability, we place a few restrictions on who can edit these items, and for how long. We use the following rules:

  • only the person who created a Treatment Setup may edit it
  • the Treatment Setup may only be edited on the day it was created

If either of these conditions aren't met, a new Treatment Setup must be created, which will then replace the existing one at the top of the patient's timeline. This can either be done by creating a new Treatment Setup, or by copying an existing Treatment Setup.

Once on a patient's Treatment Setups page, a Treatment Setup can be edited by doing the following:

  • find the relevant Treatment Setup in the list of items
  • click on the dot menu to the right of the item
  • click Edit
  • update the details
  • click Save

Files may be deleted on a per-file basis.

Copying an existing Treatment Setup

If a Treatment Setup cannot be edited, because of the rules in the Editing a Treatment Setup section, it may be convenient to create a new Treatment Setup starting with the existing one's details and files.

From the patient's Treatment Setups page:

  • find the relevant Treatment Setup in the list of items to copy
  • click on the dot menu to the right of the item
  • click Copy treatment setup
  • update the details
  • click Save

Archiving a Treatment Setup Administrators only

If a treatment setup was created in error, it may be archived by an administrator.

This will prevent it from showing up on the patient's timeline, and will prevent it from being edited or deleted.

To archive a treatment setup, from the patient's Treatment Setups page:

  • find the relevant Treatment Setup in the list of items to archive
  • click on the dot menu to the right of the item
  • click Archive
  • confirm that the treatment setup should be archived
